Now days, cellphones have become more and more popular. Cellphone makes the connection easier, but it also has negative effects.
In the passage “Hang it up”, the author Jesse Scaccia states that cellphones have been banned in public schools for years. Nevertheless, students bring their cellphones to school. They text and play video games in class, this will affect their studies. Parents think cellphones can make it easy to connect with their children. In fact, students use the cellphone to text message with their friends and play games in class. I agree with the author, students should not bring the cellphones to school.
As we know, schools are for studying, students come to school for learning. Cellphones can affect their studies. First of all, some students play video games in class. This will affect their studies. They cannot pay attention on studying. They can’t hear what the teacher teaches. Secondly, when the teacher is teaching, someone’s cellphone is ringing, this makes teachers uncomfortable and this action is rude. Finally, some students don’t work hard. They use the cellphone to cheat during the test. This is unfair for other students.
In the other hand, cellphones are easy to connect. Students can use the cellphones to connect with their parents. Their parents can also know what their children are doing through the cellphones. Sometimes, students can use the cellphones for emergence.
In conclusion, cellphones can affect students’ studies, but it also makes the parents easy to connect with their children. Schools need to communicate with students, try to persuade students do not use cellphones in class. Parents also need to take this issue seriously, try to make an agreement with schools.
